New Eateries in North Kitsap

Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty steak, craving a craft beverage, or want to indulge in a unique waffle creation, North Kitsap’s newest eateries offer something for everyone. If it seems like new places keep popping up, you’re not wrong. These four new restaurants have opened since April, and have quickly become must-visit destinations for both locals and visitors alike.

Fjord Steakhouse

Downtown Poulsbo’s first steakhouse, Fjord Steakhouse has quickly become known for their impressive cuts. They proudly serve Pacific Northwest grass-fed beef, with options from filets to tomahawk. You’ll also find reserve items like Wagyu, Elk, and Bison and seasonal items like Alaskan halibut. For starters they offer burrata salad, grilled Caesar, seafood chowder, and more.On their lunch menu, you’ll find a steak sandwich, burger, and shrimp po’boy. Reservations are available, as well as parking in the garage behind the restaurant.

Hours: Lunch – Tuesday – Saturday 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM  | Dinner – Tuesday – Thursday 4:30 – 9:00 PM | Friday – Saturday 4:30 – 10:00 PM

 

Aegirs Public House

From craft cocktails and mead to Scandi touches on the menu, Aegirs Public House fits right in the vibe of . Brought to you by the same ownership as the Brass Kraken, Aegirs has a vibe all its own. Drawing inspiration from Norse mythology, this pub is named for Aegir who served as the quintessential host for the Gods. This mighty sea giant was famed for hosting grand feasts within his oceanic halls, where spirits flowed freely and legendary tales were shared among friends. It was a place where everyone felt a true sense of belonging. 21+

Hours:  Sunday – Wednesday 11:00 AM – 10:00PM | Thursday 11:00 AM – Midnight | Friday – Saturday  11:00 AM – 1:00 AM

Salish Bar 

The new kid on the block, Salish Bar opened in early August. You can find them right next door to Fjord Steakhouse in the newly remodeled Eliason building. Offering a speakeasy vibe, Salish Bar is a 21+ establishment. Their menu offers many amazing seafood options like  crab cakes, lobster rolls, and halibut risotto, complimented by things like Brussels sprouts, smash burgers, and vegetarian pasta. This is the perfect place to enjoy a craft cocktail or late night bite.

 Hours: Tuesday – Thursday 4:00 – 10:00 PM | Friday- Saturday 4:00 PM – Midnight

Whiskey & Waffles

This long-anticipated eatery opened in the spring after close to two years of renovations to their Port Gamble space. True to the name, you can find an impressive whiskey list, and both sweet and savory waffle dishes. From classics like chicken and waffles, to more unique flavors like smoked salmon with herb cream cheese – you will find it hard to choose. Aside from the namesake items, you’ll find housemade gelato in a rainbow of colors and flavors, and freshly-roasted coffee. Perhaps the piece de resistance – an imported specialty oven for their Pinsa Romana – which is an oval shaped Italian flatbread (similar to pizza.) 

Hours: Wednesday – Thursday 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Friday – Sunday 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM
